A review of 2013 with the help of our Instagram feed. From the birth of a bicycle to the Best of Britannia and a few stops along the way.
2013 has been a momentous year for us here at Vickers Bicycle Co. – we launched our Roadster to the world and have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response.
And after 12 months riding the proverbial roller coaster that is bicycle building we thought we’d look back at 2013 through the lens (and filters) of Instagram to remember some of the highlights.
The Roadster is Born
The year started with the culmination of twelve months design & development work as the Roadster was born:
Launching at The Tweed Run 2013
The Roadster made its public debut in some style on this year’s London Tweed Run. It really is the most wonderful experience – pedalling through Central London to the sound of ticking freewheels and tinging of bike bells!
On the Trail of the Grey Fox
David Evans who writes about menswear for the older man over on the Grey Fox blog has been a great supporter of ours and is a true Gent to boot. If you don’t already, you really should follow his blog.
Charles Tywhitt SS14 Shoot
In September we hit the streets of Mayfair as the Roadster starred in the photo shoot for Charles Tywhitt’s Spring/Summer 2104 campaign.
Best of Britannia 2013
Quite possibly the highlight of our year was the fabulous Best of Britannia show at the Farmiloe Building in Clerkenwell. Not only was it wonderful to meet so many like-minded British manufacturers it was great fun as well!
Extending the Entente Cordiale with Monsieur London
What started with an almost flippant Tweet about a pair of gloves led to a photo shoot and has developed into a lovely partnership with two of the nicest Frenchmen you could hope to meet.
Ready for our Close Up
The Roadster’s spent a fair amount of the year in front on the camera – here’s a selection from our favourite shoots:
